Koats for Kids
December 19, 2006
The employees at St. John's Lutheran Hospital celebrated the season of giving with a coat drive and Jeans Day Fundraiser for the local Kiwanis Koats for Kids Program.
"Over 100 coats were donated and $290.00 raised for this worthy cause," commented KC Hoyer, Marketing Manager at St. John's. "What better gift to share with the children of our community than warmth during the Holidays."
According to Hoyer, the hospital employees have been celebrating Jeans Day fundraising activities for over six years. The employees are asked for a donation of any size for the opportunity to wear blue jeans on designated Fridays to raise funds for other health-related Not-For-Profit Organizations in the area.
"Our team has raised in excess of $12,000 over the years," added Hoyer. "That definitely makes a statement of support from our employees, to our community. I'm proud to be a part of it."
The Koats for Kids program is a worldwide project of Kiwanis International. The local Kootenai Kiwanis Organization has been in operation for over 27 years and has been running the Koats for Kids program for almost eight.
