November 5, 2006

The National Weather Service out of Missoula has issued a High Wind Watch for north-central Idaho and western Montana for Monday. Very strong winds are expected from late Sunday night through Monday evening.

A vigorous Pacific Storm system is taking shape over the eastern Pacific Ocean which is expected to move east towards the area on Sunday and produce very strong southwest to west winds over many areas of north-central Idaho and western Montana.

Sustained winds of 30-40 mph, with gusts from 50-60 mph, are possible. The stronger gusts will be mainly confined to open areas and along ridge tops.
