State approves Montanore adit
November 28, 2006
It may be an early Christmas present for the Libby area.
Along with the heavy snow came word that the state has approved Mines Management's application to start work on the Montanore adit, and to begin pumping water from the shaft in preparation for expanded exploration and test drilling of the ore body.
According to reports, Mines Management intends to begin work immediately. Before pumping the mine can begin, infrastructure such as venting, piping, electrical and on-site buildings need to be built.
Eric Klepfer, of Mines Management, told KLCB News that Mines Management hopes to accomplish those tasks in December and start pumping in January or February, 2007.
The state's letter of notification approving moving forward arrived Wednesday, just before Thanksgiving.
