SJLH Festival of Trees
Holiday Gala
November 28, 2006
It’s time to ring in the Holidays! The 12th annual St. John’s Lutheran Hospital Foundation’s Festival of Trees will be held December 8 and 9 bringing holiday dazzle to the Memorial Center in Libby. Come and join us for two nights of fun and frolic. It all begins on Friday, December 8, with Family night. This year the hospital is teaming up with Kootenai Heritage Council and the Kootenai Karacters to make the Friday night of the festival even more…Festive! Join us for a fun-filled evening that the entire family can enjoy. “In the spirit of giving and holiday traditions, there will not be an admission charge to the Friday night Festivities,” commented KC Hoyer, Foundation Director at St. John’s. “We teamed up with the Kootenai Heritage Council to make sure that everyone is able to take part in this community holiday tradition.” Begin the evening by taking an enchanted walk through the beautiful holiday trees, hand-decorated and displayed by local merchants and organizations. After that, fill your belly with a bowl of that famous SJLH Auxiliary chili while you listen to live holiday performances from the Tap Dancers Troop to The Treasure Tones. To the children’s delight, Santa and his elves, played by the Kootenai Karacters, will be on hand to grant their wishes along with holiday craft making, story time, face painting, train displays, and more. Remember to bring your camera and snap as many photos as you like; these are the moments no parent should miss! The doors will be open from 3:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday. The SJLH Auxiliary Chili Feed is from 3:00pm to 7:30pm ($3.50) and the live entertainment begins at 4:30pm. Saturday, December 9, is the day to slip into your finery because on Saturday evening the Festival is transformed into a shimmering Holiday Fundraising Gala celebration; a one-of-a-kind in our area. Join in the fun as we dance and merry-make the night away at the most celebrated Holiday Gala in the County. Dance to the lively music of Little Elmo and the Mambo Kings while you take in the shimmering trees and excitement of the auction and raffles. Mouth-watering hors d’oeuvres, incredible music, and the dazzling ambiance make this evening the most romantic and exciting of the season! “Our communities really look forward to this Holiday Tradition,” added Hoyer. “It is the most exciting, elegant, and entertaining way to raise money for Healthcare Services. This year the proceeds will continue to build the SJLH Endowment Fund.” The doors open at 6:30pm, with dancing until midnight. Tickets are $30.00 and available at St. John’s Lutheran Hospital. For more information or tickets please contact KC Hoyer at 293-0106.
