At least Geri Miller, defeated Treasurer incumbent, is definitely planning to ask for a recount, Miller told KLCB. Miller lost re-election by a mere 9 votes.
Another close race, the State Representative race for House District One, may get another look. Incumbent Ralph Heinert out ran challenger, previous House member Eileen Carney, by 18 votes. Heinert defeated Carney in the last election.
KLCB Libby News Radio spoke with Carney, who said she is weighing the possibility of requesting a recount in that race. The requests for recounts cannot be made until after the election is canvassed and certified by the County Commissioners. The County elections will be certified November 14, and the statewide elections certified on November 27.
