It didn't rain on our parade

Libby's 22nd annual Nordicfest celebration got under way Friday under a hot, smoky sky. It was a warm afternoon for the Runnerfell participants, with an afternoon high temperature of 95 degrees. Visitors to the food court didn't seem to mind, though, as eating Scandinavian treats is something to look forward to, no matter the weather.
Everyone enjoyed Saturday's parade without the rain of the past couple years. The craft show at the Memorial Center, as always, offered an outstanding selection of quality items for browsing and purchase. There was a lot of Christmas shopping happening here!
The Kootenai Valley Quilters' Guild hosted another wonderful quilt show, with Joyce Lelm honored as Quilter of the Year. The 21st annual Fjord horse show was a crowd-pleaser. Don't forget the entertainment on the new stage adjacent to the Memorial Center, the art show held at Timberline Auto, the merchants and crafters along Mineral Avenue, the breakfasts and dinners hosted by organizations around town, the nightly entertainment featuring Libby's Treasure Tones and Sylvia and the Fjordsong Band, and the Kootenai Karacters presenting their own melodrama...there was something for everyone to enjoy. See you next year!
