FWP fish restocking plan public meeting Aug. 17
EA and proposal to remove fish from Kilbrennan Lake and Creek and Feeder Creeks
August 13, 2006
The Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) has prepared a draft environmental assessment (EA) for the rehabilitation of Kilbrennan Lake and Kilbrennan and Feeder Creeks for the purpose of restocking with native redband trout. FWP proposes removing eastern brook trout, non-native rainbow trout, yellow perch and black bullheads from these waters.
The project area is located approximately ten miles northwest of Troy, Montana in Kilbrennan Lake.
A public meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 17, at the Three Rivers Ranger District in Troy at 6:00 pm to provide more information about the proposal.
Paper copies of the draft EA are available at the FWP headquarters in Kalispell at 490 N. Meridian; the Montana State Library in Helena; and the Lincoln County libraries in Libby, Eureka and Troy. Digital versions are available online from the FWP website at www.fwp.mt.gov under Public Notices.
The draft EA will be out for public review until Monday, August 28, 2006.
