Campfire/firewood cutting restrictions on Plum Creek lands
Stage I Fire Restrictions in effect
July 31, 2006
Stage I fire restrictions are also in effect on private land in the northwest Montana area owned by Plum Creek Timber Company, according to Tara Darrow, Communications Associate with Plum Creek.
Tom Ray, Plum Creek’s general manager in Montana, advised that campfires are allowed only at improved campgrounds in approved fire rings on Plum Creek lands. Campfires are NOT allowed in any other locations during these fire restrictions.
Plum Creek also has implemented a ban on firewood cutting on their lands due to the high fire danger. The ban went into effect on Wednesday, July 20, and is in effect until further notice.
