Spring thaw has caused area rivers and streams to rise and bringing the Kootenai River over its banks. The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Yaak River, which was .4 feet shy of flood stage as of 1 PM on Friday. The Yaak River is expected to continue to rise, approaching flood stage by early Saturday morning.
