March 2: Kootenai Job Fair The annual Community Job Fair will be held at the Lincoln County Campus of Flathead Valley Community College in Libby. Local employers are encouraged to participate. The Job Fair will provide useful information for anyone seeking employment including high school and community college students. Free, open to the public. Riley Creek Lumber Mill, out of Moyie Springs, Idaho, announced they will be one of the businesses attending the Job Fair from 5:30-7:30 pm. The Moyie Springs mill, which makes 2x4s and other framing products for the construction industry, is located about 30 miles south of the Canadian border.
March 3: Hawaiian Carnival The Troy PTA will host a Hawaiian Carnival from 4:00 to 8:00 pm with games, prizes and food. Tickets are $.25, with no game over 4 tickets.
March 4-5: Flea Market There will be a flea market at the Memorial Center from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Saturday and 10:00 am to 3:00 pm Sunday.
March 10: Rotary Wine Tasting The Libby Rotary Club will host its annual wine tasting benefit at the Memorial Center beginning with no-host cocktails at 6:30 pm and wine tasting at 7:00 pm. The event is the Rotary's major fundraiser to help defray the costs of Rotary basketball and volleyball at Libby Middle School and to fund the Marjorie Hunter Brown Scholarship Endowment, which provides an annual $1500 and $500 scholarship to graduating Libby High School seniors. Auction items for this year's event include a whitewater adventure for two on the lower Salmon River, area landscape prints, a trip to a Seattle Mariners game, an 18-bottle wine cellar, a powered parachute flight, a Turner Mountain ski package, a Sports Therapy gift certificate, 10 yards of gravel, gift baskets and more. Rotary will also be raffling a 52-inch flat-screened television with a limited number of tickets sold. Tickets for the benefit are $30 each and are available from Rotary Club members or The Venture Inn, Kelly Ann Travel and The Western News. March 10: Christian Swenson The Troy Fine Arts Council will present Christian Swenson, a one-man show featuring dancing, singing and acting, at the Troy High School auditorium at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $8/adult and $5/student, available at Rocky Mountain Music in Libby and Northwest Music in Troy.
March 11: Irish Fair Free entertainment, hourly raffle drawings and a craft show will be presented at the Memorial Center from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. An evening concert with An Dochas and the Haran Irish Dancers will also be presented beginning at 7:00 pm. For more information, visit www.libbyirishfair.org.
