Nonresident snomobilers must buy MT permit

Nonresident snowmobile riders are reminded that they must purchase a snowmobile use permit to ride in Montana. The permits cost $15 per machine.
More than 80% of the revenue collected is used to groom snowmobile trails. The balance goes to enforcement of snowmobile laws, county search and rescue teams and administrative costs.
The nonresident snowmobile permits are available from Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP), FWP license providers in areas of heavy snow trail use, select snowmobile equipment retail businesses, hotels and motels and other businesses serving snowmobile riders. For more information call 406-444-4585.
