Montana Best Times featured Ross Creek Giant Cedars and Kootenai Falls near Libby in their October, 2005, edition. The monthly publication is published by Yellowstone Newspapers of Livingston, Montana. Written for "Folks 50 and Better", it features articles on interesting travel locations, money matters, sites of historical interest, book reviews, health information, community involvement, healthy recipes, volunteering opportunities and an area calendar of events. The color cover photo of the October, 2005 edition features Ross Creek giant cedar trees with the caption, "Montana’s best-kept secret: GIANT CEDARS." The article, entitled, "What? GIANT CEDARS in Montana” was written by Paula Clawson. The two page feature includes a story, travel information and photos of Ross Creek Scenic Area, Kootenai Falls and the Swinging Bridge.
"In a state where pine trees less than 100 years old are the more likely guardian and shade-givers for hikers, walking in the shadows of 500-year-old trees that seem to kiss the sky gives a sense of blazing a wilderness last known by early American Indians and French fur trappers," writes Clawson.
Montana Best Times is read by about 100,000 viewers across southern Montana including Dillon, Livingston, Bozeman, Columbus, Red Lodge, Forsyth, Lewistown, Stanford, Billings, Hardin, Miles City, Terry and Glendive.
