Harlem Ambassadors come to Libby Sept. 30
Spectacular ball handling, comedy and fun!
September 12, 2005
If you have never seen this team before, don’t miss them! On Friday, September 30th, the internationally acclaimed Harlem Ambassadors professional basketball team will be at the Libby High School Gym at 7 pm for a special exhibition. They are known for their high-flying slam dunks, spectacular ball-handling tricks and hilarious comedy.
The event in Libby was arranged by the Libby Chamber of Commerce. "They are just fantastic!" said Chamber Executive Director, Louise Rice, who came up with the idea of bringing the team to town. The Chamber is putting together a team to play against the Ambassadors, but don’t look for this to be an even-sided match. The Locals aren’t likely to come even close in this game! "It will be a fun family event," said Rice. The Ambassadors will have an autograph signing session after the game.
The Harlem Ambassadors Stars & Stripes team performs throughout the United States and internationally. According to their website, "The show is designed to be fun for customers of all ages, with youngsters being awed for the first time and older folks enjoying the tried-and-true gags like a rerun of a favorite comedy movie. The Ambassadors' operation is professional in all aspects. In addition to having a wholesome entertainment product, we are also good citizens, promoting the values of staying in school, staying off drugs and fostering racial harmony."
Tickets cost $5 for adults and students, $4 for seniors, kids under four are $3. Tickets are available from the Libby Chamber of Commerce (open Monday-Friday, 9 am-5 pm) and from Kootenai Disposal.
