Kootenai National Forest display at the Heritage Museum There are only a couple more weeks left to visit Libby’s wonderful little museum before it closes for the winter. The Heritage Museum will close for the season on Sunday, August 28th. The all volunteer-run museum began in 1978; admission is by donation. The Kootenai National Forest display is new for this summer, part of the U.S. Forest Service celebrating its 100th year in 2005. There are displays inside the museum as well as on the outside grounds. Museum hours are 10 am-5 pm Monday through Saturday and 1-5 pm on Sunday.
