It was a beautiful weekend for the 10th annual Two Rivers Rendezvous sponsored by the Kootenai Muzzleloaders of Libby, July 22-24th.
About 150 participants entered the events, which included rifle, pistol and archery trails, hawk & knife, long gong, mountain man run, tomahawk poker, and raffle drawings at Fawn Creek Campground near the Fisher River east of Libby. It was a family weekend with plenty of activities for kids, too.
Libby's rendezvous is growing steadily and is considered to be one of the larger events in the northwest circuit that includes north Idaho, eastern Washington and western Montana.
Visitors are welcome, so if you want to get a taste of what life was like in the fur-trapping era, make plans to visit next year's rendezvous. The participants are gracious and willing to share their wealth of knowledge about life in the early 1800's.
