Libby Dam Operations meeting May 17

The annual public information meeting for 2005 Libby Dam operations will be held the evening of Tuesday, May 17 in Libby. The meeting will focus on the Corps of Engineers’ current operation of Libby Dam and the associated species recovery actions in the Kootenai watershed. The meeting will be held at Libby City Hall on Spruce Street in the Ponderosa Room and is slated to begin at 7 p.m.

MDT Representatives from Libby Dam, as well as representatives from the Corps’ Seattle District, Portland Northwestern Division offices, and other state and federal agencies, will be on hand to discuss hydropower system operations and species recovery actions and answer questions. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about and discuss operations at Libby Dam as they relate to local and regional issues and listen to the varied concerns and opinions of residents from throughout the Kootenai watershed.
