Forest Service to spray for noxious weeds in 2006
28 miles of hiking & snowmobile trails to be sprayed

The Three Rivers Ranger District of the Kootenai National Forest is proposing to chemically spray noxious weeds along twelve trails in the summer of 2006. Treatment will involve spot spraying along approximately 28 miles of hiking and snowmobile trails and their trailheads.
Areas proposed for treatment: Keeler Snowmobile trail and trailhead Taylor Peak Trail #320 and trailhead Little Spar Lake Trail #143 Spar Peak Trail #324 Old Highway 2 Trail Pine Creek Trail #208 Roderick Mountain Trail #189 Bonnet Top Trail #583 Caribou Mountain Trail #56 Wood Mountain Trail #175 Callahan Railroad Grade Trail #153 Spread Creek Snowmobile Trail
Spraying will be accomplished either by backpack sprayer or stock-mounted sprayers.
