Irish Fair March 12
March 8, 2005
Libby will hold its tenth annual Irish Fair Saturday at the Memorial Center, highlighting Irish culture with musical entertainment, a craft fair, Irish food, and free drawings throughout the day.
The craft fair begins at 10:00 a.m. with crafters coming from around western Montana and north Idaho. There will also be a beginning Celtic dance class Saturday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Little Theatre featuring Sally Delby from the Celtic Cross Dancers.
The evening concert at 7:00 p.m. features Tra Le Gael and the Celtic Cross Dancers from the Flathead area, and Shaughnessy Hill from Libby. Tra Le Gael plays traditional Irish music with a variety of instruments and combines the vocal harmonies of the 5-member group on Irish ballads. The Celtic Cross Dancers have performed in Libby in the past and are always entertaining. Shaughnessy Hill has been performing since 1992 and is composed of Libby’s David and Carol Latham, Lee Tonner and Liam Corbell.
The evening concert starts at 7:00 p.m. at the Memorial Center. Tickets are $10 and are available at Cabinet Books and Music or at the craft fair Saturday. For more information, visit the Irish Fair's web site at www.libbyirishfair.org or call Bob DeBorde at 293-6545.
