A 406/Block 400 Grand Opening Party was held on the 400 block of Mineral Avenue on Saturday, April 6 (406 being Montana's area code and a day to celebrate Montana). Three new businesses on the block celebrated their grand openings: Red, White & Brews; 1st Ascent Climbing & Fitness and Jason Schikora Photography. Other businesses on the block joined the celebration, including Scheer Bros. Hobbies and Libby Gym.

A multitude of activities included live music, face painting, bench pressing, photography, the National Guard climbing wall, remote control car obstacles, blood pressure checks by the Lincoln County Health Department, a poker crawl and a cornhole tournament.

David Thompson Search and Rescue was on hand as well as Express Employment and the Kootenai Valley Quilt Guild with their beautiful raffle quilt. Cotton candy and food vendors were also part of the festivities.

It was a day of fun and activities for the entire family and an event to welcome the new businesses in Libby.
