Hot August Showdown 2021 Cabinet Mountain RC Raceway by Maggie Craig August 12, 2021 The ninth annual Hot August Showdown was held at Cabinet Mountain RC Raceway over the weekend of August 6-8. The event was hosted by Kootenai RC Racers, Scheer Bros. Hobbies and Cabinet Mountain RC Raceway, and supported by several RC and local business sponsors. Special guest this year was Adam Drake, a multi-national champion RC racer. He held his Adam Drake Drivers' Clinic on Thursday evening and Friday morning, offering tips and information for RC racers. He also raced over the weekend, taking first place in the 1/8th Nitro Truggy and 1/8th Nitro Buggy classes. (Complete winners' list here). Having a driver of Adam's caliber at this year's Showdown was an incredible opportunity for local race enthusiasts to gain helpful advice for their own remote control racing efforts, and to see a top competitor in the sport in action. Next year marks the tenth anniversary of Hot August Showdown, which will be held August 5-7. Save the date for viewing great remote control racing action on one of the best tracks around.
