Montucky Clear CUT 2021

The Montucky Clear CUT Alpine Snowboard Carving event was held February 1-4 at Turner Mountain for its third year, initiated by Libby native David Redman. Turner Mountain first hosted the carvers in 2019 when the Alpine Carving Snowboarder group moved their annual event from Aspen. Redman, having grown up in Libby and knowing Turner Mountain well, had the idea of holding the carving event at Turner as a fundraiser for the mountain, and the Montucky (rural Montana) Clear (clear slopes; not many people) CUT (Carving Up Turner) was born. The ski hill is rented for four days exclusively for use by the alpine carvers, who come to practice their sport, try out new equipment, have fun, and see friends old and new. Accommodations were made this year for the pandemic, including mask usage, social distancing and hygiene.
