Kootenai River Stampede
August 1, 2019
Libby's Kootenai River Stampede was held over the weekend, July 26-27, at J. Neils Park. The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) rodeo has been held in Libby for many years, formerly as the Kootenai River Rodeo, and now the third year as the Kootenai River Stampede.
This year's entertainment was provided by Clint Selvester as the rodeo funnyman and the Alberta Miniature Chuckwagon Racing Association made an appearance before an appreciative audience with their mini chuckwagon races. Powered by four miniature horses, the chuckwagons are one-quarter the size of a regular chuckwagon but the speed and excitement and competition are definitely full-sized. These mini horses can run and appear to love it.
Thanks to all who make the rodeo possible, including the volunteers, sponsors, business contributions, individual donations, and community support, as well as those making the trip to Libby to compete and entertain our community.
