Kootenai River Rodeo July 29-30, 2011 by Maggie Craig, LibbyMT.com August 1, 2011 The Libby Area Chamber of Commerce, along with Montanore Minerals, again sponsored Libby's eighth annual Kootenai River Rodeo over the weekend. The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association rodeo attracted riders from Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, California and Canada, and points earned in Libby count toward their PRCA circuit totals. The rodeo gets underway Gene Rogers carries our flag Justin Miller Justin was third in bareback riding with a score of 80 points. Ben Wrzesinski Ben was second in bareback riding with a score of 82. Buck Lunak Buck was fourth in bareback riding with a score of 78 points. Danny Webb Danny was the winner of the bareback riding event with a score of 91 points. This is a new arena record. Jim Pat Smith Nick Stubblefield Steer Wrestling Ty Erickson Ty won the steer wrestling event with a time of 4.8 seconds. Clowning around JJ Harrison entertains. How many cowboys does it take? Roy Johnson Roy placed sixth in saddle bronc with a score of 72 points. These rodeo horses... ...were an amazing sight... ...and spectacular! Boot race for the kids JJ helps a young'un Rayna Rice Rayna won the barrel racing event with a time of 17.53 seconds. Katie Rasmussen Milee Malone Kathy Grimes Kathy placed third in barrel racing with a time of 17.69 seconds.
